Ingredients required to cook the best chicken masala
- 750 g chicken
- 2 chopped onion
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 1½ tbsp Cee Pee Chicken Masala
- 4 tbsp mustard oil
- ½ cup minced or puréed tomato
- Coriander Leaves to garnish
- 1 Bay leaf
- 3-6 crushed black pepper
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 2 green cardamom
- 2 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp Haldi Powder
- 2 tsp Kuti Mirch
- 2 Green Chilies
- ½ Lemon
Steps:
- Add mustard oil to the pan over medium heat. As the oil starts to bubble, add the aromatic spices: bay leaves, crushed black pepper, green cardamom, and cinnamon powder. As you sauté and let the oil absorb the flavor for 1 minute, mix your onion and ginger garlic paste.
- Add the onion-ginger-garlic mix and cook until the onions show color.
- Now start to incorporate pieces of chicken and cook it for 2-3 minutes after which, turn the flame low.
- Add Cee Pee Chicken Masala, Kuti Mirch, Haldi Powder, and salt and stir the masala well with the chicken.
- Cook for a minute before adding tomatoes and green chilies. Bring the flame back to a medium and cook covered for 6-7 minutes until the oil starts to separate.
- Remove the lid and add 1 cup of water and stir the mix. Cook until the chicken is tender and soft.
- Take it off of the stove and serve it hot. Garnish with coriander leaves.
